Road Trip 2012

Perjalanan Pengubat Hati Yang Lara

We went on a road trip recently with a posse consisting of Ayah & his 3 grandchildren (my instant children on loan for a week, thanks Yan). For the first half of the trip, Ayah’s sister’s family convoyed with us. They say travel can be a key component in healing a broken heart. Getting out of the house and having your loved ones around you for support is what it’s all about. It will be the first to many adventures ahead, creating new memories yet treasuring the old ones. Destination for the trip was very much where Ayah felt like going. He preferred going to places where he and Ibu never venture. They fell in love in KL sentral, honeymooned in Cameron and her family was from Malacca. So those are the taboo places. Reliving memories is just so tough at this moment. So here’s to fixing a broken heart one step at a time.

Ayah being the Malay teacher, wrote the following to describe the trip from his eyes.

Grand Lexis PD
Berkolam renang eksklusif
Buat famili bermandi-manda
Bebas aurat
Bebas mengurat
Jangan lupa ke Teluk Kemang
Bazar pantai dan aktiviti renang
Akan dikenang

Felda Residens jauh di Utara
Tom Tom mengarah
Destinasi perjalanan
Aktiviti keluarga bercuti berhibur
Jauh dari hiruk-pikuk kota
Merebus telur di telaga hangat
Berendam di kolam air panas
Berjakuzi di laman rumah
Beteri kereta hangus terbakar

Colmar dengan kehijauan hutan
Jalan berliku meredah belantara
Unggas dan burung berkicauan
Sejuk dan nyaman
Di puncak teratak teh empat juta
Sejauh mata memandang
Tidakkan kulupa betapa pedihnya
Akibat Osmosi yang tercemar
Perut memulas
Bagaikan dipulas

Pulau Ketam di Selat Melaka
Tempat nelayan menternak ikan
Sejam perjalanan dari Port Klang
Ada hotel
Ada seafood
Tiada pantai untuk bermandi-manda
Tiada restoran halal menjamu selera
Kosong
Kosong . . . Najwa Latif

Pullman di tepi tasik yang damai
Pertama kali
Setelah tujuh bulan kumeniti
Waktu dinihari
Kuterlena dibuai menikmati
Malam kurniaan Ilahi
Gemersik azan menjelang pagi
Air mata mengiringi
Doa dipanjat pada Ilahi

Times Berjaya di puncak awan
Gagah megah ikon kota metropolitan
Kesesakan
Lalu-lintas bagaikan
Kekura melintas mengatur langkah
Ikon kota metropolitan
Menjadi buruan
Warga Timur Tengah beralih angin
Night supper di Chow Kit Road

Perjalanan bermula
Dengan nyanyian doa safar
Perjalanan berakhir
Dengan ucapan syukur Alhamdullilah

That pretty much summed up the trip.

I’m so sorry but I hate it when people tell me to take it easy, time heals. Unfortunately, time doesn’t heal all the wounds.  For some, it just hides them. A more apt saying is “It’s what one does with the time that heals”. Nonetheless, I know there’s Allah to help me get by.

“Kerna kau yang satu
Yang setia bersama ku
Dikala ku jatuh ku bangkit kernaMu
Ku tahu ku adaMu disisi ku selalu
Bantulah hambaMu mencari keredhaanMu.”
